BLF&R Architects completed a feasibility study for the Town of Marion in early 2007. In 2008 BLF&R was part of the development team selected in a competitive RFP process

100% Affordable, financed with Housing Tax Credits
The project replaced 12 existing units on the 30+ year old town owned property
One (30) unit building, three (6) unit cottage style structures, and a community building on a completely accessible site
LEED Gold Certification
Development of a previously disturbed site & use of low impact development strategies
Use of Energy Star design standards achieved HERS scores of 50 to 56 (50% better than code)
Use of high recycled content and low VOC materials
High performance windows and insulation
Maximized density to minimize impact to the site and adjacent wetlands
