This might be the most interesting job site we've worked on! We'll soon start the Restoration and Preservation of the Bird Island Lighthouse in Marion. As the name implies, the island is inhabited mainly by birds. The lighthouse is located at the entrance to Sippican Harbor and is in great need of restoration. Our work will help ensure that the lighthouse is preserved for many years. The island is home to common terns and endangered roseate terns who nest there during the spring and summer. Site visits and construction work will occur in the fall and winter when the birds have migrated off-site. To learn more about these fascinating birds, their behaviors, and how their nests are counted, read this short The Boston Globe article: www.bostonglobe.com/2023/06/12/metro/must-love-birds-being-attacked-by-them/

This morning, we attended the ribbon cutting for the Eldredge Garage Visitor Center for the Town of Chatham. This new visitor center building includes two accessible bathrooms, device charging stations, a water bottle filler, and an exhibit area. We know these will be appreciated by residents and visitors alike for many years!
The outdoor area includes a new paved parking area, bike racks, a bike repair station, a replica gas pump, and air pumps. In addition, new EV charging stations will be added in the near future. We hope you agree that it looks fabulous!

Congratulations to Andrea Willett on her 5th anniversary with Catalyst! She brings a high level of project management and design expertise that has helped shape our most recent Bank Headquarters projects. Andrea was the lead Architect on the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod Operations Center, which was completed in 2021, and is the Project Manager/Architect on the Bank 5 Headquarters currently under construction. She has also been working on plans to renovate the Brewster Veterinary Hospital. We are lucky to have her continued diligence and creativity as part of our team of Architects. Here are some photos from her projects.
Fun fact about Andrea: She owns a historic three-season cottage in Manomet that she loves to enjoy with her family and friends! Join us in congratulating Andrea on this milestone. 🥳
